whenever u make any change in regedit. or may be u installed new softwares and some errors appearing in ur system settings.. then open that file which was backed up by you....

How to avoid auto play of CD ? Way I like best tip.

Hey this time no registry trick even though there are ways in registry to do it. In earlier operating systems only those CD that had autorun.inf file in their root directory were able to execute on its own but with advent of WINDOWS XP it has become possible with just about anything. Well sometimes it is good but there are other times when you want to avoid this part of automation. What would I do. Simply press SHIFT key when you enter a CD in your CD drive. It won't Auto play. For those of you, who do want a registry hack. Here it is:
Open Registry and navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWA

RE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer] and look for key "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" and set its value to 185 (decimal). This would stop autoplay.

Note:
Always Take backup of the registry

Disable "CLEAR HISTORY" button from the internet explorer

(3) and on the right side open "DISABLE CHANGING HISTORY SETINGS" and enable it and apply.

now go to your internet explorer and check clear history button !
(when u want to enabe this button again then follow the same instructions and select Not Configured in Disable changing history settings)

Add a subtitle to a youtube movie with Windows movie maker

Uploading your home made movies or even professional productions to youtube is becoming everyone favourite past time. What a great way to share your videos and home movies.
You can upload a video to youtube and make it private or public.

I found myself addicted to youtube and started to make short computer tutorials to upload. I wanted to use the youtube videos to get people to go to my websites and so I decided to put a simple subtitle at the start of the movie. When I say simple, I mean very simple! As you will see in the video below, I use Windows movie maker to edit the video.

Windows movie maker is a program that comes with Windows XP and I had never realized how easy it was to use. A great program right under my nose the entire time.

I made my little video tutorials with the free screen recorder called Cam studio. After that I simply imported the video into Windows movie maker and added the subtitles there.

As you will see, your subtitles can say anything you like. You can change the font, color, effects, and more on you subtitle. Maybe you should do an experiment of your own.

I know my movies are not professional but I think the subtitle makes it look a little bit better anyway.

Windows movie maker - save a movie to your computer

In the previous post it showed you how to add subtitles to a movie with Windows movie maker. Now this video will show you how to save that movie to your computer. It will end up as a .wmv file which will be more compatiable with other players, including Windows media player.

If you have added subtitles or any special effects it will all be saved as one movie. The title, your movie, transitions, and end titles will all become one.

Windows XP Control panel - Add or remove programs

Some people don't realize that you have to use Add or remove programs in the control panel to remove programs from your computer safely. And if you do not do it properly you are left with bits of files all the computer, which soon cluuters up your computer and slows it down.

To use the Windows Add or remove program feature is very easy, but make sure you know what program you are removing. You do not want to remove your virus checker or firewall program by accident.

How do you find the Add or Remove feature in the control panel?

1. Go to the start menu at the bottom left corner.
2. Choose control panel from the menu.
3. Double click on the Add or Remove Programs icon.
4. Now choose the program that you want to remove. Make it blue by selecting it.
5. Then press the remove button.

Save backup files, photos, and data to cd with Windows XP

If you have Windows XP it is easy to backup your files, including photos, pictures, emails, word documents, data, and basically anything that is important to you. It is just a matter of having a blank cd in your burner and then right clicking on any file or folder that you want to add to the cd.

How to add files and folders to save to a cd in Windows XP:

1. Put a blank cd in your cd burner.
2. Browse through your computer for files or folders that you want to save to cd.
3. Right click on the file and a menu will appear.
4. Choose send to, then choose to send to the cd drive that the blank cd is in.
5. Keep adding files, photos, or whatever you like. (usually 700mb)
6. When you have finished you can press on write files to cd in the left menu bar.
7. The cd will burn.

How to find the CD writing dialog box:

1. Go to the start menu, choose my computer.
2. Then look for the icon for your cd burner which will have your blank cd in.
3. Double click on it to open.
4. This is where you will see the blue menu on the left.

• You can also double click on the balloon message that appears in the right corner. It says you have files ready to be writen to a cd.. This will also open the cd writing dialog box.
• A cd will fit around 700mb of files and data. Movies usually do not fit onto a cd unless they are short or compressed to do so. A blank dvd disc will fit 4.7gb of data.
• The built in Windows cd writing program does not work with DVD burning.

How to use Windows XP System Restore tool

System Restore is a Windows System tool that backups your computer or basically takes a snapshot of it, to restore to it at a later date. So for example if you set a restore point when you first get your computer, if you look at it, thats exactly what you get if you restore back to that spot.

Even though system restore leaves the files you created intact, it will not leave programs on your comuter that you did not have when the snap shot was taken. So if you have photos and files they will still be on your computer when you restore it to an earlier date, however any programs you installed after the snap shot will have to be re-installed to use. Just remmber that system restore will not recover a file that you have deleted so if you are restoring, hoping that your accidentally deleted file will come back...it won't.

I use System restore at least a few times a week. Just before I am going to install something, including Windows updates, I set a restore point. This is just incase something out of the blue ruins my smoothly running computer. Trust me, it has come in very handy.

Sometimes you don't even have to do anything and your computer can still go haywire. As we all know they have a mind of thier own.
