How to Make Invisible Password Protected Folder

 


Do you want to password protect your folder? Do you want to make it invisible so that it remains unnoticed by the normal users? Well here is a way to do that. In this post I will show you how to make a password protected folder in Windows without using any additional software. Here is is step by step procedure to create a password protected folder.








How to create a Password Protected Folder

Step-1: Create a new folder (Right-click -> New -> Folder) and give it any name of your choice. For instance I name it as ABC.

Step-2: Now in this folder place all the important files, documents or any folders that you want to password protect.

Step-3: Now Right-click on this folder (ABC) and select the option Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.

Step-4: Now a new compressed zipped folder gets created next this folder (ABC) with the same name.

Step-5: Double-click on this compressed zipped folder and you should see your original folder (ABC) here.

Step-6: Now goto the File menu and select the option Add a password.

ie: File -> Add a password

Now a small window will pop up and here you can set your desired password. Once the password is set, the folder will ask for the password every time it is opened. Thus you have now created the password protected folder.



How to make it Invisible

Step-1: Now Right-click on this password protected folder and select Properties.

Step-2: At the bottom select the option Hidden and press OK. Now your folder gets invisible (hidden).

Step-3: In order to unhide this folder go to My Computer – >Tools -> Folder options. Switch to View tab, scroll down and under Hidden files and folders you’ll see the following two options

* Do not show hidden files and folders
* Show hidden files and folders

Now select the second option and press OK. Now the invisible folder becomes visible in it’s location. To access it you need the password. To make it invisible again repeat step -1 through step-3 and select the first option and click OK. Now the folder becomes invisible once again.

Steps To Make This File

1. Go to cmd.
2. Change to the directory that you want.
3. Assume i change to D:
4. So,in Command Prompt,type D: and [enter].
5. Type in this command "md \lpt1\\" without quotes and press enter.
6. The folder will now in your D:
7. Go and try and delete or rename it,you cannot do anything to it. There are still many names that you can use to name the folder: -lpt1 until lpt9 -CON -AUX

instead of lpt1 u can also use name "con" it will behave in same manner

To delete it:

1. Go to Command Prompt again.
2. Navigate to the directory.
3. Type in rd \lpt1\\ or con if u have created con :)..

one more thing u can play with ask your frnd to create folder with name CON.. definitly he would failed to create.. then u can ask him to move from in front of screen as if u dont wanna show him/her how u gonna create this.. and do in the manner i posted in the beginnning.. :)

Note: It is good to take backup of the registry editor and if u find any problem after changing the registry u can run

well explaining my last post about ENCRYPTOR as i ve got many mxgs that it wasnt properly explained...

lemme tell you first what are ENCRYPTERS..

to make it clear for a general user we can say encrypter if a kind of software or aplication which changes the format of data the process is called ENCRYPTION and DECRYPTION is the reverse process mean converting data back to orignal form...

Setup your own Proxy Server in 5 Minutes for Free

A simple Google search and you’ll find dozens of really good PHP scripts on the Internet to help you create proxy servers in minutes for free. The only limitation with PHP based proxies is that you require a web server to host the proxy scripts and second, you also need a domain name to act as an address for your proxy site.
If you don’t own a domain or server space, you can still create a personal proxy server for free and that too without requiring any technical knowledge.

Here’s one such proxy site that you can build for your friends in China or even for your personal use (say for accessing blocked sites from office). This is created using Google App Engine and, contrary to what you assume, the process is quite simple.
Step 1: Go to appengine.google.com and sign-in using your Google Account.
Step 2: Click the “Create an Application” button. Since this is your first time, Google will send a verification code via SMS to your mobile phone number. Type the code and you’re all set to create apps with Google App Engine.
Step 3: Choose a sub-domain* that will host your proxy server. Make sure the domain is available, agree to the Google Terms and click save. The sub-domain is also your App ID that will uniquely identify your proxy application.
For this example, we’ll use labnol-proxy-server as the App ID though you are free to choose any other unique name.
Step 4: OK, now that we have reserved the ID, it’s time to create and upload the proxy server application to Google App Engine. Go to python.org, download the 2.6.4 MSI Installer and install Python.

Step 5: Once Python is installed, go to code.google.com, download the Google App Engine SDK for Python and install it.
Step 6: Download this zip file and extract it to some folder on your desktop. The zip file, for the curious, contains a couple of text files (written in HTML and Python) that you can read with notepad.
Step 7: Start the Google App Engine Launcher program from the desktop and set the right values under Edit –> Preferences (see screenshot above).
Step 8. Click File –> Add Existing Application under the Google App Launcher program and browse to the directory that you created in Step 6. Click the Edit button and replace “YOUR_APP_ID” with the ID (sub-domain) that you reserved in Step 3.

Step 9: Click Deploy and your online proxy server is now ready for use. You can experience it live and if any of the steps don’t make sense, please refer to the following video screencast (available in 720p HD).
You can edit the main.html file to change the appearance of your proxy server and you can even add Analytics and AdSense code to your proxy server in case it gets popular on the web. The application is currently open to all users but you can add a layer of authentication so that only users who are logged-in into their Google Accounts can use your web proxy server.
If you have made any changes to your HTML files, you can upload the latest version to Google App Engine either by clicking the “Deploy” button again or use the following command -- appcfg.py update

• This proxy works with Flash videos (like YouTube and ABC News) though not with Hulu.

• As some of you have suggestions, domain with the word “proxy” or “proxies” are banned at workplaces so you may include them in your proxy address.

(4)Now click on BItTORRENT and check(tick) all check boxes and make sure OUTGOING is ENABLED

(5)Now click on QUEUEING and and give 3 value to MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ACTIVE TORRENTS, 5 to MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ACTIVE DOWNLOADS: , 100 to SEED WHILE RATIO IS and 0 TO SEEDING TIME, make check boxes are un-cheked,

(6)Now click APPLY AND CLICK OK

(7)Go to the file which is downloading and right click on it and change BANDWIDTH ALLOCATION to HIGH and SET UPLOAD LIMIT to 5

STEP2) Here, the path in the 2nd line of code represents the path of your picture.

STEP3) Now save this file as DESKTOP.INI in the location(any drive or any folder) where you desire to set the background picture.

STEP4) After setting it in your favourite location,close the drive and open the location again.

DONE !! .. your picture has been set as background picture for your desired location.

NOTE : Make sure that the extension in the path should be .jpg only and file should be saved as DESKTOP.INI only.

changing settings in your system registry, which contains

information about how your computer runs. Almost the

complete settings are stored in the registry. For example,

when you re size a program window, the window position (x,y

points) is stored in the registry so that the settings are

kept permanently. This is just an example, there are much

more data stored in the registry. Although Registry Editor

enables you to inspect and modify the registry

* it's advisable to use Registry Editor only if the GUI

does not provide the option you're looking for. Making

incorrect changes in the registry can break your system.
* It's highly advisable to backup the registry before

go to start > run and type regedit
when registry editor opens...
go to file > export and give any name of the file and save..
now u have backed up ur registry...
whenever u make any change in regedit. or may be u installed new softwares and some errors appearing in ur system settings.. then open that file which was backed up by you....
☺always take registry back up when u try to play with it !

How to avoid auto play of CD ? Way I like best tip.

Hey this time no registry trick even though there are ways in registry to do it. In earlier operating systems only those CD that had autorun.inf file in their root directory were able to execute on its own but with advent of WINDOWS XP it has become possible with just about anything. Well sometimes it is good but there are other times when you want to avoid this part of automation. What would I do. Simply press SHIFT key when you enter a CD in your CD drive. It won't Auto play. For those of you, who do want a registry hack. Here it is:
Open Registry and navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWA

RE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer] and look for key "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" and set its value to 185 (decimal). This would stop autoplay.

Note:
Always Take backup of the registry

Disable "CLEAR HISTORY" button from the internet explorer

here is a trick which will really make them bother when they would go to clear history button but won't find it :D

(1) goto START>RUN type gpedit.msc

(2) then go to
UserConfiguration>AdministrativeTemplates>WindowsComponent>InternetExplorer
(3) and on the right side open "DISABLE CHANGING HISTORY SETINGS" and enable it and apply.

now go to your internet explorer and check clear history button !
(when u want to enabe this button again then follow the same instructions and select Not Configured in Disable changing history settings)

Add a subtitle to a youtube movie with Windows movie maker

Uploading your home made movies or even professional productions to youtube is becoming everyone favourite past time. What a great way to share your videos and home movies.
You can upload a video to youtube and make it private or public.

I found myself addicted to youtube and started to make short computer tutorials to upload. I wanted to use the youtube videos to get people to go to my websites and so I decided to put a simple subtitle at the start of the movie. When I say simple, I mean very simple! As you will see in the video below, I use Windows movie maker to edit the video.

Windows movie maker is a program that comes with Windows XP and I had never realized how easy it was to use. A great program right under my nose the entire time.

I made my little video tutorials with the free screen recorder called Cam studio. After that I simply imported the video into Windows movie maker and added the subtitles there.

As you will see, your subtitles can say anything you like. You can change the font, color, effects, and more on you subtitle. Maybe you should do an experiment of your own.

I know my movies are not professional but I think the subtitle makes it look a little bit better anyway.

Windows movie maker - save a movie to your computer

In the previous post it showed you how to add subtitles to a movie with Windows movie maker. Now this video will show you how to save that movie to your computer. It will end up as a .wmv file which will be more compatiable with other players, including Windows media player.

If you have added subtitles or any special effects it will all be saved as one movie. The title, your movie, transitions, and end titles will all become one.

Windows XP Control panel - Add or remove programs

Some people don't realize that you have to use Add or remove programs in the control panel to remove programs from your computer safely. And if you do not do it properly you are left with bits of files all the computer, which soon cluuters up your computer and slows it down.

To use the Windows Add or remove program feature is very easy, but make sure you know what program you are removing. You do not want to remove your virus checker or firewall program by accident.

How do you find the Add or Remove feature in the control panel?

1. Go to the start menu at the bottom left corner.
2. Choose control panel from the menu.
3. Double click on the Add or Remove Programs icon.
4. Now choose the program that you want to remove. Make it blue by selecting it.
5. Then press the remove button.

Save backup files, photos, and data to cd with Windows XP

If you have Windows XP it is easy to backup your files, including photos, pictures, emails, word documents, data, and basically anything that is important to you. It is just a matter of having a blank cd in your burner and then right clicking on any file or folder that you want to add to the cd.

How to add files and folders to save to a cd in Windows XP:

1. Put a blank cd in your cd burner.
2. Browse through your computer for files or folders that you want to save to cd.
3. Right click on the file and a menu will appear.
4. Choose send to, then choose to send to the cd drive that the blank cd is in.
5. Keep adding files, photos, or whatever you like. (usually 700mb)
6. When you have finished you can press on write files to cd in the left menu bar.
7. The cd will burn.

How to find the CD writing dialog box:

1. Go to the start menu, choose my computer.
2. Then look for the icon for your cd burner which will have your blank cd in.
3. Double click on it to open.
4. This is where you will see the blue menu on the left.

• You can also double click on the balloon message that appears in the right corner. It says you have files ready to be writen to a cd.. This will also open the cd writing dialog box.
• A cd will fit around 700mb of files and data. Movies usually do not fit onto a cd unless they are short or compressed to do so. A blank dvd disc will fit 4.7gb of data.
• The built in Windows cd writing program does not work with DVD burning.
